Exclusive method

Here at Babalu we specialize in Brazilian knot hair extensions, a versatile and semi-permanent method. Unlike traditional methods, it uses only threads, avoiding glue, keratin, or metal beads. This technique offers flexibility for various hairstyles. Brazilian knot extensions, also known as "elastic fusion" or "Italian knot," are gentle on natural hair, creating a seamless and long-lasting look. Here is a detailed description of the hair extensions weft method:

  1. Selection of hair extensions: high-quality virgin hair extensions are our go-to hair to ensure the best fit for your hair. The hair should be as close as it can in texture, length, and color to the client's natural hair to achieve a seamless blend.

  2. Preparation: before the application, the natural hair is washed, dried, and prepared to ensure it is clean and free from any product buildup. The stylist may also trim the natural hair to create a seamless blend with the extensions, usually done after the installation is complete.

  3. Sectioning the Hair: the natural hair is divided into small sections to create individual anchor points for attaching the extensions. These sections are usually around 1 cm thick and 1 cm away from the scalp.

  4. Looping Technique: a loop is created at the root of each section of natural hair using a threading technique. A small elastic thread is passed through the loop and around the section of hair.

  5. Attaching the Extension: once the loop is created, a small section of the hair extension weft is passed through the loop. The loop is then tightened, securing the extension in place. The stylist may use a special tool to help pull the extension through the loop and tighten the knot.

  6. Knotting Process: the knot is then secured by wrapping the elastic thread around the base of the extension and the natural hair multiple times, creating a strong and secure attachment.

  7. Blending and Styling: after all the extensions are attached, the stylist will blend the extensions with the natural hair to ensure a seamless and natural look. The hair can be cut, styled, and treated just like natural hair.

  8. Maintenance and Removal: proper maintenance is crucial to keep the weft extensions looking their best. This includes regular brushing, avoiding harsh chemicals, and using hair care products suitable for both natural and extension hair. Weft extensions can typically last 10 to 12 weeks. It's your responsibility to follow your stylist time for your maintenance. Removal is done by a professional stylist to ensure minimal damage to the natural hair.

Advantages of Brazilian Knot Hair Extensions:

  • Gentle on Natural Hair: the Brazilian knot method does not use adhesives or heat, reducing the risk of damage to the natural hair.

  • Seamless and Natural Look: the small and discreet knots created during the process provide a seamless blend with the natural hair, making the extensions virtually undetectable.

  • Long-Lasting: with proper maintenance, Brazilian knot extensions can last for several months, making them a semi-permanent solution.

  • Versatile Styling: the extensions can be styled, colored, and treated like natural hair, offering versatility in hairstyles.

  • No Residue: since no glues or adhesives are used, there is no residue left in the hair when the extensions are removed.

While Brazilian knot hair extensions offer several advantages, they require skill and expertise to apply correctly. It is essential to have them applied and maintained by a trained professional to ensure the best results and to avoid any potential damage to the natural hair.
